On July 19, there was a reburial of the 24 soldiers killed during the Great Patriotic War, who had been found on the territory of the Kardymovo district by the search groups. Their memory was honored by observing a minute of silence.

The culmination of the festival was a military-historical reconstruction of a scene of the battle at the Solovyova crossing, during which the combined unit under the control of Colonel Lizyukov courageously defended the strategically important site form the attack of the German fascist invaders.

Over 15 military-historical clubs from the different cities of Russia and Belarus took part in the reconstruction watched by more than 1,000 people.

The aviators and pyrotechnics, who participated in the reconstruction, did everything possible to immerse the audience in the atmosphere of the tragic events of 1941.

The festival ended with the action "Candle of Peace": hundreds of participants and guests, including veterans of the Great Patriotic War, representatives of the government authorities, clergy and youth organizations, lit candles in memory of the killed heroes.

The festival "Solovyova crossing", which has celebrated its 5th anniversary this year, is considered one of the most significant military-patriotic actions in Smolensk region.
