VII All-Russian Film Festival "Golden Phoenix" opened in Smolensk

The cinema "Sovremennik" is hosting the VII All-Russian Festival of actors and directors "Golden Phoenix", dedicated to the Year of culture in Russia.

The host of the opening ceremony of the festival was Vladislav Flyarkovsky, the head of the studio "Art News" TV channel "Culture". From the stage the president of the Guild of Russian Film Makers Marlene Hutsiev, who is the head of the jury this year, and the president of the festival, People's Artist of Russia, Vsevolod Shilovsky greeted the audience.

The cinema "Sovremennik" is hosting the VII All-Russian Festival of actors and directors "Golden Phoenix", dedicated to the Year of culture in Russia.

The host of the opening ceremony of the festival was Vladislav Flyarkovsky, the head of the studio "Art News" TV channel "Culture". From the stage the president of the Guild of Russian Film Makers Marlene Hutsiev, who is the head of the jury this year, and the president of the festival, People's Artist of Russia, Vsevolod Shilovsky greeted the audience.

The competition program of the seventh "Golden Phoenix" includes 25 films: 18 full-length films, five short films and two documentaries. The main sites of the festival will be the cinema "Sovremennik" and the newly opened cinema "Change", as well as the Tenishevs ECC. Traditionally, in addition to watching the movies, the people of Smolensk will be able to meet their favorite artists within the framework of the festival. So, the cinema "Sovremennik" will host performances featuring the People's Artist of Russia Boris Klyuyev, Maxim Dunayevsky and Valeri Garkalin. The special event of the "Golden Phoenix 2014" will be the embedment of a star in honor of Iosif Kobzon, who will be awarded a prize from the Directors Guild of Russia "For the great contribution to cinema".
