A working visit of the Governor to the Temkino district
Today the Head of the region took part in the celebrations to mark the 85th anniversary of the Temkino district. During his working trip Alexey Ostrovskiy visited the construction site of the health and fitness center and the preschool department of the Temkino municipal secondary schools.
The Temkino district was formed in 1929 on the territory of the former Yukhnovsk, Gzhatsk and Vyazma districts of the Smolensk province, as well as the former Medynsk district of the Kaluga province. In 1963, it was attached to the Gzhatsk (Gagarin) district, in April 1972, in accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, was restored as the Temkino district.
Congratulating the residents of the Temkino district on the holiday, the Head of the region presented the most distinguished representatives of the District with Honor Certificates from the Administration of Smolensk region and Letters of Appreciation from the Governor.
Next, Alexey Ostrovskiy visited the construction site of the health and fitness center, where he examined the construction process. The government contract with the LLC "Eurasia-Service on the construction of the object was signed in last November.
During the working visit to the district Alexey Ostrovskiy also visited the preschool department of the Temkino municipal secondary schools. The department, located in the former kindergarten building, started its work in 1986.
At the moment, the institution with the planned capacity of 140 people is attended by 70 children of 4 different age groups of the general educational orientation. 14 people take care of them, including 6 teaching staff. A special developing environment with the fair-tales room and an auto-town has been created here for bringing the children up. There is also a methodical office in the preschool department, the sport and play grounds are operating on the territory of the institution.
Also, the issue of gasification of the municipality was brought up during Alexey Ostrovskiy’s visit. The construction and installation works on the high-pressure gas pipeline to the Narytka village of the Anosovo rural settlement, which is 10.35 km long, have been done within the long-term regional target program "Gasification of Smolensk region" for 2012-2015. By order of the Head of the region the "blue fuel" will be supplied to 60 households within a month.
The last item on the agenda of the Governor’s working visit to the district was the laying flowers at the Mass Grave № 22-1, located in the center of Temkino.
More than 1,500 people, including the officers, sergeants and soldiers of Infantry Division 160 of Army33, who participated in the liberation of the Temkino district, are buried in this mass grave. This year, through the efforts of the local authorities the marble headstone, pedestal and sculpture of the memorial were repaired.
