Preparation for the jubilee of the 1st flight is going on
On January, 11th Governor Sergey Antufiev took part in the meeting of the Organization committee on preparation for the 50th anniversary of the flight of Yury Gagarin to space. Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held the meeting of the Organization committee in the Tracking Headquarters at Korolev situated near Moscow.
«We should proceed from that for Russia everything connected with space is not only a traditionalpriority but an object of national pride. Exactly our compatriotsTsiolkovsky, Korolyov and Gagarin have realized a long-standing dream of people to conquer space and literally opened grand prospects for scientific and technical and socio-economic development of all civilization», - emphasized the Chairman of the Government at the beginning of the meeting.
The Prime-Minister appealed to pay attention to increasing of the interest of youth to space field by organizing meetings with specialists, holding Olympiads, contests for young inventors and so on.
Besides Vladimir Putin pointed at importance to support museums and equip memorable sites connected with history of native cosmonautics and to found tourist infrastructure based on them. One of such sites that the Chairman of the Government emphasized is the United memorial museum for Yury Gagarin in the Smolensk region.
Deputy Chairman of the Organization committee, Head of the Federal Space Agency Anatoly Perminov made a speech with a report about realization of main arrangements of preparation for the historical date and celebration of it.

Governor of the Smolensk region Sergey Antufiev told about the way of celebration of the future 50th anniversary of the 1st flight to space in the native city of Y. A. Gagarin. He decided on the realization of the main arrangements for the 50th anniversary of the flight.
«Yury Alekseevich Gagarin is from Smolensk, he is our compatriot and that’s why the Smolensk region takes special responsibility for preparation and celebration of this historical date», - emphasized Sergey Antufiev. To fulfil the Plan of the main arrangements the Administration of the Smolensk region passed the long-term regional target program «Celebration of the 50th anniversary of the space flight of Y. A. Gagarin» for 2010-2011. The total amount of money is 109,6 million rubles. Also they gave 35 million rubles more from the emergency fund of the Administration. The most part of the money were sent to construction, reconstruction, repair of objects of culture and public sphere, equipping the neighboring territories with modern services and utilities.
The realization of the Plan of the main arrangements and regional target program led to great results. On the territory of the municipality they have reconstructed rural water-supply system. The spread of the network is more than 33 km of gas pipeline of built-up area. Also they built gas pipeline in the village of Klushino where the cosmonaut to be had been born and had spent his childhood.
The Recreation Centre, school and the neighboring territory were refitted too. The road from Gagarin to Klushino was reconstructed as well.
In the city of Gagarin they reconstructed frontispieces and roofing of many buildings including the school for Yury Alekseevich Gagarin and the school for Aleksey Arkhipovich Leonov. The memorial to Yury Gagarin was restored as well. The Centre of Culture «Komsomolets» (member of the Komsomol) where traditionally takes place the Gagarin recitation got modern facing. Also there equipped new acoustic engineering in the auditorium of the Centre of Culture.
During 2011 that has been proclaimed as the Year of Russian cosmonautics the following arrangements will take place in Gagarin and Smolensk: All-Russian Music Festival «Towards the stars», All-Russian track-and-field race «Klushino-Gagarin», All-Russian gathering of student constructive groups. They will produce the photo album «Native land of Yury Gagarin» and the memorable Medal «50th jubilee of the flight of Y. A. Gagarin».
Finishing the speech Sergey Antufiev invited Vladimir Putin and the members of the Organization Committee to take part in the international arrangements dedicated to the birthday of the first cosmonaut that will take place in the city of Gagarin on March, 9.
