The Head of the Russian Ministry Emergency Situations checked the readiness of Smolensk rescuers

At the end of his working visit to Smolensk region the Head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov came to firefighting-rescue unit №7 of the regional center. Together with Acting Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy, the Minister checked the readiness of the unit to perform professional tasks.

In firefighting-rescue unit №7 for the Protection of the Promyshlenny district of Smolensk the Minister talked with the unit staff, examined the firefighting and technical equipment and rescue equipment available in the unit. Vladimir Puchkov also congratulated the staff on the fifth anniversary of the firefighting station and wished them success in their service.

Minister Vladimir Puchkov together with the Head of the region Alexey Ostrovskiy awarded medals from the Russian Ministry Emergency Situations to the best firefighters and rescuers of Smolensk region.

The head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry congratulated the awardees and wished them good luck and prosperity. He also spoke about the plans to increase the readiness of the command departments and divisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Smolensk region. This year, the Crisis Management Centre will be fully re-equipped, a new space technology for monitoring and forecasting emergencies will be introduced, the Center of unmanned aircraft will be formed, and the rescue and other units will be improved.

The inspection of readiness of the human resources and equipment of the regional subsystems of the national system of prevention and liquidation of the emergency situations for the fire-dangerous period took place. The Main Command Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Smolensk region and rescue units, presented by all the life-guarding services of Smolensk, took part in the inspection.
