Smolensk region will receive federal subsidies for the construction and reconstruction of roads

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree on the allocation of regional subsidies for the construction and reconstruction of public roads. 52 subjects of the Federation, including Smolensk region, will receive the funds.

The subsidies will be given to the regions within the Federal target program "Sustainable development of rural areas for 2014-2017 and for the period up to 2020".

According to the explanatory notes to the document, the signed decree regulates the distribution of funds for the construction and reconstruction of paved roads going from the network of public roads to the nearest socially significant facilities in the rural settlements, as well as to the facilities producing  and processing agricultural products.

Providing the subjects of the Federation with the funds will help to increase the length of public roads of the regional, inter-municipal and local importance.

In accordance with the decree, Smolensk region will receive 50 million rubles.
