The system of vocational education of the Smolensk region has a good record at the the Education and Science Ministry

This week the Smolensk region is traditionally hosting the August meetings of the pedagogical community of the region. In order to share experience and discuss the best practices in the field of vocational education, the Director of the Department of State Policy in the field of professional training and additional professional education of the Russian Education and Science Ministry Natalia Zolotareva took part in the pedagogical forum.

Natalia Zolotoreva discussed with the representatives of the regional authorities the results of the implementation of the state policy in the sphere of vocational education and professional training in the Smolensk region, as well as the prospects of the sphere.

Besides, Natalia Zolotareva shared her opinion on the work of the regional authorities in these areas: "The Smolensk region is definitely in the trend of the development of secondary vocational education. I would like to note that you are actively applying innovative technology in the work with teachers. Doing it, as well as strengthening the practical aspect of training, are the most important tasks because vocational education must benefit the economy of the region: by providing staff for the production industry and for the service sector. I know that clusters are being formed and two industrial parks are going to be opened in the Smolensk region. Already, as part of the August meetings, the directors of technical schools are thinking how they are going to ensure the development of these clusters. This is a good example for other regions how to organize the August meetings, which are to orient directors for strategic development".

According to the Head of the Department of the Education and Science Ministry, it is significant that the Smolensk region has hosted the All-Russian competition "A Professional of the Future" for several times, within the framework of which there is also a conference for deputy directors for character development. Secondary vocational education has traditionally been famous for character development work, so it is important to keep and develop this tradition.
