Development territory

A large-scale public forum with this name will be held in Smolensk on September 8. The participants will not only discuss the issues, which concern Smolensk residents, but also jointly determine the ways to solve these issues.

The main objective of the First Smolensk regional socio-economic forum "Development Territory" is to unite all creative and caring about their home region people. Thoughtful and responsible people live in the Smolensk region, and thanks to their active citizenship and despite the current difficult economic realities, our home region is rapidly evolving and improving.

The Public Chamber of the Smolensk region, the Scientific-Industrial Union and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce addressed the acting Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy with the proposal to hold such a forum. The Head of the region, in his turn, approved and supported the initiative as one of the fundamental principles of public administration is an honest, open and trusting dialogue of the government authorities with the population. To that end, people respected in the Smolensk region and beyond it: heads of industrial and agricultural companies, public organizations, doctors, teachers, businessmen, artists and scientists and many others are invited to participate in the Forum.

The people of Smolensk are expecting the visit of Alexei Leonov - the first man, who came out in open space, and a close friend of our famous compatriot Yuri Gagarin. His wisdom, exceptional capacity for work, a terrific talent of a manager and a mentor for many decades have helped the Smolensk region to move forward, overcome difficulties, and cope with crises. The famous Russian actor and director, the president of the All-Russian Festival of actors-directors "Golden Phoenix", People's Artist of Russia Vsevolod Nikolaevich Shilovsky is also going to be a guest of the Forum.
