The final results of the early elections of the Governor of Smolensk region have been announced

At today's meeting of the regional election commission its chairman Alexey Stepanov announced the final results of the early elections of the Governor of Smolensk region. He informed that 100% of protocols of the district election commissions were entered into the system SAS (State Automatized System)-Elections.

Alexey Stepanov said that the attendance at the Governor elections was 28.77%. 228,127 voters took part in the elections. The following information, regarding the candidates for the post of the  Governor of Smolensk region, was included in the final protocol: Vladimir Zaitsev – 4,630 votes (2.03%), Nikolai Kuznetsov - 26,507 votes (11.62%), Sergey Lebedev - 28,329 votes (12. 42%), Elena Lobanova - 12,422 votes (5.45%), Alexey Ostrovskiy - 148,700 votes (65.18%).

 "These are the final figures. Thus, according to the results of the vote, Alexey Ostrovskiy has won, receiving more than 50 percent of the votes", - noted the chairman of the regional election committee.

At the end of the meeting the committee members signed a protocol on the results of the election of the supreme official of the Federation subject and a decision on the recognition of the early elections of the Governor of Smolensk region as valid and legitimate.
