Alexey Ostrovskiy is taking part in the Second Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus

Acting Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy is taking part in the Second Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus, which is held on September 17-18 in Sochi.

The Forum, organized with the support of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly and the Council of the Republic of the Belarus National Assembly, is aimed at expanding direct contacts among the regions, as well as working out recommendations to improve the legislation for the rapid development of the economies of Russia and Belarus. The heads of the Russian and Belarusian regions, members of the Federation Council and deputies of the National Assembly of Belarus, heads of ministries and departments, representatives of business, public and scientific organizations participated in the forum.

The main topic of the Second Russian-Belarusian Forum is the industrial policy of the Union State. The participants will discuss the key issues of cooperation in agriculture, work out recommendations to facilitate a coordinated agrarian policy and food security in the Union State.

Today there will be the main plenary session on the "Industrial policy of the Union State: common approaches and regional dimensions". It is expected to be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

The plenary session will end with signing agreements on cooperation between the regions of Belarus and Russia.
