A new minimum living wage has been set in the Smolensk region

In accordance with Resolution № 620 of the Administration of Smolensk region of October 9, 2015, the minimum living wage for the III quarter of 2015 in per capita terms has been set at 10,141 rubles.

In accordance with Resolution № 620 of the Administration of Smolensk region of October 9, 2015, the minimum living wage for the III quarter of 2015 in per capita terms has been set at 10,141 rubles.

For each socio-demographic group there is a specific living wage. So, for the working-age population it is 10,929 rubles; for pensioners – 8,354 rubles; for children – 9,898 rubles.

The minimum living wage in Russia is a valuation of the consumer basket consisting of the minimum set of food, nonfood goods and services necessary to sustain a person’s health and ensure their activities, as well as the mandatory fees and charges.

The minimum living wage in the region is a form of assessment of the population’s level of living taken into consideration when designing and implementing regional social programs to provide necessary state social aid to low-income citizens, as well as to form the budget.

The new value of the minimum living wage in Smolensk region has been set in accordance with the Federal Law "On the Minimum Living Wage in the Russian Federation", the regional law "On the Procedure for Establishing the Minimum Living Wage in Smolensk region" and "On the Consumer Basket in Smolensk region."
