Smolensk region will receive more than 46 million rubles for the implementation of economically important agricultural development programs

Smolensk region is among the regions of Russia that the Government will assist in the implementation of economically important agricultural development programs. Only 17 subjects of the Federation will receive grants to support livestock, and only 23 – to implement crop projects. The corresponding decree was signed by the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

398 million rubles were allocated to the Federation subjects to support economically important regional programs for agricultural development in the sphere of cattle breeding. Smolensk region will receive 3.7 million rubles for this purpose.

To support the crop projects the regions will receive one billion rubles of subsidies. The funds will be spent on the development of flax and rice crops, and on the fertility restoration of agricultural lands of the Far East Federal District, which suffered from flooding and waterlogged soils. In accordance with the executive decree, Smolensk region will receive 42.4 million rubles.

It should be reminded that the efficiency of using grants is annually evaluated by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia through the degree of achieving the performance indicators, defined in the agreements between the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and senior executive bodies of the state power in the subjects of the Federation.
