The ceremony dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations

In Smolensk there was a ceremony dedicated to the 25th anniversary of one of the most mobile and highly professional departments of Russia – the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) and the Day of the Rescuer of the Russian Federation, which is annually celebrated on December 27.

The Russian Rescue Corps worldwide demonstrates its high reliability and efficiency. Overcoming the danger, taking a risk daily, they always and everywhere come to the aid of people.

The firefighting and rescue service continues to develop in the region. Since the beginning of the year, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the region received more than 20 units of modern machinery at a time. The Governor of the region Alexey Ostrovskiy pays special attention to the development and improvement of the regional system of dealing with emergencies.

Only this year, at the expense of the regional budget a fire fighting depot was launched in the Molgino settlement in the Novodugino District. In addition, the Head of the region decided to build two more fire-station - in the Sychevska and Ershichi districts.

The ceremony started with a demonstration of the film on the activities of the Main Directorate and its divisions. The audience honored the memory of the lost employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations with a minute of silence.

In his welcoming speech, the Governor Alexey Ostrovsky said: "I am very happy and proud of the fact that the Smolensk rescuers look very good on the national level and are considered real professionals”.

After the welcoming speech, Alexey Nazarko read the orders on conferring titles, presented departmental insignias and diplomas of the Central Regional Emergency Center of the Ministry of Emergency Satiations of Russia.

Then the Head of the region awarded Diplomas of Honor from the Administration of Smolensk region and Letters of Appreciation from the Governor of Smolensk region to the most outstanding rescuers.
