The Governor meets with veterans of the state and municipal service

The cultural and recreational center "Gubernskiy" hosted the VII Conference of the regional public organization of the veterans of the civil and municipal service, state authorities and management. It was attended by the Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy.

The Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the state civil and municipal service Yuri Synkin informed the Head of the region and his colleagues on the organization’s performance in the current year and the tasks for the next year.

Smolensk regional public organization of veterans of the civil and municipal service, state authorities and management was established on October 29, 2009. Since then, it has been facilitating protection of social guarantees of civil service pensioners, veterans and their families. The organization also tries to encourage its representatives to participate actively in the political, social and cultural life of the region, moral and patriotic education of the youth, to share their professional experience with young managers.

The organization operates in close cooperation with the state and local authorities and other public organizations. It includes more than 460 members and 1,200 volunteers; there are primary organizations in 21 municipalities of the region.

Addressing the audience, the Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy suggested having a dialogue of the senior official of the region with those who worked in the public service in previous years.

During the talk the participants of the conference discussed many other important issues, in particular, the difficult situation in the housing and utility sector of the regional center. Alexey Ostrovskiy said that in December 500 million rubles from the additional federal funds received by the region will be allocated to Smolensk to improve the situation in the housing and utility sector.
