Smolensk region celebrated Yuri Gagarin's Birthday
In the homeland of the first cosmonaut of the planet there were celebrations to mark the Yuri Gagarin’s birthday and the opening of the 43rd International Social-scientific Readings to commemorate our famous countryman. They were attended by the Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy.
Numerous guests, participants of the International Readings, the residents of Gagarin took part in the meeting, which was traditionally held on March 9 at the central Red Square near the monument to Yuri Gagarin.
There is no doubt that everything that is connected with the life and deed of our great countryman is the reason to be proud of our homeland and our great country. Generations and epochs will change, but Yuri Gagarin's feat will forever remain the brightest page in the history not only of the Russian state, but of all mankind.
The meeting ended with laying flowers at the monument to Yuri Gagarin.
