The accessibility of facilities and services for the disabled people has been increased in the Smolensk region

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, the Smolensk region was named among the four regions which most efficiently organized the execution of the action plans ("road maps") to increase the accessibility of facilities and services ​​for the disabled people.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, the Smolensk region was named among the four regions which most efficiently organized the execution of the action plans ("road maps") to increase the accessibility of facilities and services ​​for the disabled people.

The meeting addressed the issues of implementation of Federal Law № 419-FZ "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation on the issues of social protection of disabled persons in connection with the ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities", and measures to create a barrier-free environment.

The presentations were made by the heads of ministries and representatives of the regions of the Russian Federation which most effectively work on creating a barrier-free environment, as well as of the all-Russian public organizations of disabled persons.

The Vice Governor of the Smolensk region Olga Okuneva reported on the work carried out in the region. The organization of work to create a barrier-free environment is under constant control of the Head of the region Alexey Ostrovskiy.
