The Deputy Healthcare Minister visiting the Smolensk region

Today, the Deputy Healthcare Minister of Russia Tatyana Yakovleva, supervising the construction of perinatal centers in the country, is visiting the Smolensk region.

In the first place, Tatyana Yakovleva together with the Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy visited the construction site of the Perinatal Centre in Smolensk and assessed the current situation. Nikolay Tsarev, the head of the representative office in the Smolensk region of the state corporation "Rostekhologii", which is carrying out the construction works, was giving the necessary commentary.

The new obstetrical institution with 130 beds will consist of the pregnancy pathology unit, postpartum unit, including intensive care unit for pregnant women, women in and after labor, neonatal pathology and premature babies unit, including neonatal intensive care unit, and gynecology unit.

In accordance with the agreement between the Administration of the Smolensk region, the Healthcare Ministry, and the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund, the financing of the project will amount to 2.5 billion rubles, of which 2 billion rubles is a federal subsidy, 503 million rubles is the regional budget funds.

So far concreting of the fifth floor ceilings in the north and south parts of the building has been completed, the structural elements of the sixth floor are being installed, engineering and technological utilities are being connected, earth, welding and concrete works are being done at the site. Also, a new central heating unit has been constructed, and now it is being fitted and prepared for launching.

At the end of the visit to the Smolensk region the Deputy Healthcare Minister met with the medical community within the framework of the Fifth Congress of the National Medical Chamber ongoing in Smolensk.
