Smolensk region is hosting the National Championship in auto-multisports

In Smolensk there was an opening ceremony of the National Championship in auto-multisports.The event is organized by the Education and Science Ministry of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the General Directorate of Road Safety of the Internal Affairs Ministry of Russia with the support of the Administration of Smolensk region.

The National Championship in auto-multisports includes individual and team competitions for young people from 14 to 17 years old, attending junior driving schools and other educational organizations of this kind for young people.

Among the main objectives of the Championship, according to the organizers, there is prevention of road accidents and child road injury, promotion of the youth auto schools, youth auto clubs and associations, physical culture and healthy lifestyle in general, revision of traffic rules, and, most importantly, developing law-abiding traffic participants.

First of all, the participants, the jury and guests of the Championship paid tribute to the soldiers who died in World War II, laid wreaths and flowers at the Eternal Flame in the Heroes Memorial Park.

Then, there was an opening ceremony of the National Championship in auto-multisports in the Smolensk State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, where the Deputy Governor Olga Okuneva welcomed the participants on behalf of the Head of the region Alexey Ostrovskiy.

The program of the Championship includes not only competitions but also a rally dedicated to the celebration of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, a display of specialized cars, traffic wardens’ cars, vintage cars, and jeepers. Also, students can participate in different workshops and enjoy a sightseeing tour of Smolensk.

At the end of the Championship, the winners will be awarded with cups, medals and diplomas.
