REVIVAL VIA INVESTMENT

In the settlement of Koschino in the Smolensk region, there was a ceremony of putting in operation a modular dairy at the agricultural municipal unitary enterprise ‘Koschino’. Governor Sergey Antufiev participated in it.

The renovation of the agricultural complex in Koschino became possible due to the efforts of the authorities and business. The limited company ‘Smolensk Agrarian Company’ and the municipal unitary enterprise ‘Koschino’ signed a cooperation agreement almost a year ago. At present, one can see a modern agrarian enterprise in place of the unprofitable farm. There is neither arrearage of wages nor existing loans. The investments at over 180 million rubles have yielded first results. Modern farming machines and a herd of stock cattle were bought; the cow-sheds were repaired.

The important element of the agricultural complex is the modular dairy, whose construction took two months due to the investments and support of the regional and town authorities. Its automated mode allows processing up to four thousand litres of milk a day. Only three people in a shift operate the technological cycle.

The dairy can reserve, purify, process, pasteurize, measure out and package finished dairy produce. The mobility of the enterprise is not only in its quick assemblage but also in the possibility to enlarge the container blocks, i.e. the productivity of the plant. Moreover, it also guarantees production sterility and ecologically clean output goods.

In order to provide the dairy with milk the enterprise keeps a herd of 249 milkers, and they are planning to increase the number up to 700 cows during a year.

According to Sergey Antufiev, the setting up of such high-tech companies is litmus paper of the development of the agrarian complex of the region. ‘The regional budget supported the project. We gave 10 million rubles to subsidize interest rates and annually approve the agricultural sector assistance program together with the deputies of the regional Duma. Eight investment projects are being worked out in the sphere of dairy farming in the Smolensk region. This year the amount of milk produced in the region is to make up to 30 thousand tons a year’, emphasized the Governor.
