For the day the territory of archaeological reserve "Gnezdovo" turned into a medieval village, because that was where an International Folklore and Crafts Festival "Slavic brotherhood" was taking place.

In recent years, “Gnezdovo” has become the center of the revival of our ancestors’ culture: here historic reconstructions, folk festivals, as well as the traditional "Slavic Brotherhood" festival regularly take place.

Its organizers recreated the atmosphere of the Slavic settlement of the X century: there were military field camps, a medieval tavern, and an archery shooting range. In addition, guests could buy products of masters of arts and crafts, and apply their imagination in various master-classes on modeling clay whistles, forging nails, sewing dolls-talismans. Moreover, you could learn to weave blankets and work on the potter's wheel.

The creative teams of our region and of the Republic of Belarus have prepared for the residents and guests of the Smolensk region an extensive concert program that included both vocal and dance performances.
