The heads of relevant agencies of executive authorities in charge of social development, healthcare, education, culture presented the reports on the performance in the 1st quarter of 2016.

The Deputy Governor Olga Okuneva chaired a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on implementation of the May Presidential decrees. The heads of relevant agencies of executive authorities in charge of social development, healthcare, education, culture presented the reports on the performance in the 1st quarter of 2016.

The heads of relevant departments informed the participants about the implementation of the May Presidential decrees in terms of keeping the indicators of average wages for certain categories of public sector workers up to a certain level. In order to control the target indicators and certain "road maps", the executive authorities carry out monthly monitoring of the average wage.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the progress of the independent evaluation of the quality of services provided by organizations in the culture sector. In 2015, the Public Council at the  Culture and Tourism Department conducted an independent assessment of the quality of services provided by the following regional state organizations: "Smolensk State Museum-Reserve", "Gagarin Joint Memorial Museum", "Historical, Archaeological and Natural Museum Reserve "Gnezdovo", “The Tenishevs cultural and exhibition center", and "Smolensk regional information Centre of culture and tourism "Smolensk terem".The performance of these organizations was evaluated based on several criteria: the openness and accessibility of information about the culture sector organization, the level of comfort and while receiving a service and its accessibility, the waiting time, friendliness, politeness, competence of employees of a cultural sector organization, satisfaction with the quality of service provided. As a result of this work, the Public Council made recommendations for the cultural sector organizations.

In 2016, the relevant department will continue to conduct an independent assessment of the quality of services provided by the regional state cultural organizations, and it also conducts systematic work with the staff of the municipal administrations of Smolensk region regarding the municipal cultural sector organizations. This year the work will be carried out in 319 organizations - almost a third of the total number of cultural sector organizations.

The meeting paid special attention to the interaction of employers and relevant executive authorities regarding the implementation of the movement «World Skills» (Young Professionals) in Smolensk region. Today, the World Skills movement is known throughout the world and is the largest competition of young professionals that is held according to the world standards.  Young skilled workers, university students, students of colleges (under 22 years old) participate in it, while well-known professionals, experts, trainers and mentors evaluate their performance. Smolensk region, just like the whole country, has joined the World Skills movement. The first regional championship "Young Professionals" was held March 14-18, 2016.
