The "Russian movement of school students" will unite young people of Smolensk region

The administration of the region hosted a working meeting chaired by the Deputy Governor Olga Okuneva on the development of the All-Russian public and state children and youth organization "Russian movement of school students" in Smolensk region.

The All-Russian public and state children and youth organization "Russian movement of school students" (RMSS) was established by the Presidential Decree in order to promote education of the younger generation and personality formation on the system of values typical of the Russian society. The head of the Movement is the Hero of Russia, cosmonaut Sergei Ryazansky.

The main objectives of RMSS are to form the educational policy concerning the education of the younger generation on the basis of the existing Russian values ​​and traditions of the national school and culture. "Today the time has come to actualize this goal, to put a serious emphasis on fulfilling this task, to consolidate the efforts of all the structures: schools, community and youth organizations. And this should be done not just to realize the Decree of the President, but to raise the issue of education of the younger generation to a different, higher level", - said the Chief of the Education, Science and Youth Department Ludmila Ivanichenko, identifying the development directions.

During the meeting, it was repeatedly emphasized that our region has a lot of experience in creating children and youth public organizations. This is, first of all, the children's Smolensk city public organization named after Yuri Gagarin, which unites more than 30 thousand young people, as well as other movements. Of course, their experience will allow to structure the work of RMSS in the region.

It is important to note that the operation of the children's organizations already existing in Smolensk region will not be stopped. All the existing school movements will be coordinated and integrated in accordance with a common goal and objectives which will positively affect the dynamics of their development.

So far, the schools which will become "pilot" sites, and hence development centers of RMSS in Smolensk region, have been selected. They are Secondary School № 27 named after E.A. Hil and Gymnasium № 4 (Smolensk), Bogoroditskoe Secondary School (the Smolensk district), Secondary School № 7 (Yartsevo), Secondary school № 4 named after Hero of the Soviet Union A.B. Mikhailov (Vyazma), Secondary School № 1 (Rudnya), Duhovschina Secondary School named after P.K. Kozlov, Secondary School № 2 (Roslavl), Kardymovo Secondary School named after Hero of the Soviet Union S.N. Reshetov, Secondary School №2 (Desnogorsk). All of these educational organizations were not chosen by chance: the extracurricular activities in them are purposefully organized, and the teachers and students are actively involved in them.

Summing up the results of the meeting, Olga Okuneva recommended to focus on cooperation with public organizations and movements for adults, which can be good mentors and partners for children's associations.
