Defenders Day in children’s centre «Vishenki»

On the eve of the Defenders Day the Department of social development of the Smolensk region and the informal public association of amateurs of extreme kinds of sports «Give children the good» arranged a great festival «We are the defenders of Russia» for kids rehabilitating at the regional state institution «Rehabilitation centre for physically challenged children and teenagers «Vishenki».

The program of the festival was rich and memorable. First deputy Head of the Department of social development Sergey Gorunov congratulated children, parents and educators. He emphasized that for such a friendly group of children and adults the celebration of the Defenders Day at «Vishenki» became a kind tradition.

The Federal special-purpose department of execution of punishment and a group of cadets- troopers of Air defence Academy showed the boys and girls military art of hand-to-hand fighting.

The show of samples of shooting army impressed the children a lot. More over they got a unique opportunity not only to see the modern Russian weapons but to take part in the assembling-disassembling of it and then to make photos. The children ate real boiled buckwheat with meat like soldiers did. In frost weather it was especially delicious. Also they talked to the participants of operations of local conflicts, watched the concert of the staged patriotic author’s song «Time chose us». In turn the children gave souvenirs to the guests of the festival – soldiers and officers. The made them on their own with love.
