The results of the film festival "Golden Phoenix"

On the stage of the cinema theater "Sovremennik" there was an award ceremony for the winners of the IX All-Russian Festival of actors-directors "Golden Phoenix". The Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy welcomed the participants and the audience.

The film festival has been held annually in Smolensk region since 2008. The "Golden Phoenix" is the first and only film festival in the world the competition program of which includes the works of directors who are successful in other professions of the film industry - actors, playwrights, cameramen, composers and others.

In the course of the festival 54 actors-directors have visited Smolensk, the work of the festival has been covered by more than 60 journalists from 30 media. The festival shows and meetings have gathered the audience of over 15 thousand people.

The Head of the region is sure that the "Golden Phoenix" will inspire actors-directors to create new movies, all of which we can see next year within the framework of the tenth anniversary film festival. He wished long life to the "Golden Phoenix", productive work, success, recognition of the audience to its participants.

The uniqueness of the festival prizes is worth paying attention to – the statuettes in the form of phoenix, which is the symbol of Smolensk, made of 925 silver and 999 gold. The three main prizes, weighing 530 g, are decorated with diamonds, rubies and sapphires. The awards are named after the famous natives of Smolensk and Smolensk region.

Every year during the festival, on the ground in front of the cinema theater "Sovremennik", there is a ceremony of opening "stars" of the famous Russian actors and directors - participants of the festival. This year, the stars have been "lit" in honor of the actor, film and theater director Yuri Solomin and the film director, screenwriter, actor Alexander Mitta.
