The socio-economic forum “Development Territory” started Smolensk

The Tenishevs Cultural and Exhibition Center hosted the opening ceremony of the II Smolensk regional social-economic forum "Development Territory", held with the support of the regional Administration.

The representatives of the authorities, public organizations, business community, heads of companies, scientists, and culture professionals gathered to discuss the challenges and current issues of the regional development. The Forum started with the meeting of the thematic section on the "Economy and investment development of Smolensk region".

Addressing the audience, the Vice-Governor Rostislav Rovbel on behalf of the Head of the region Alexey Ostrovskiy, wished the Forum participants success and productive work. "This year, following the guidance given by Alexey Ostrovskiy, we have changed the format and decided to organize thematic sessions, during which the issues of the economy, agriculture, youth policy, patriotic education, and others will be discussed together with you ".

According to the Vice-Governor, this year's Forum is attended by foreign partners, together with whom further cooperation and implementation of joint business projects will be discussed.

In the course of the Forum, the representatives of business community could get acquainted with investment projects of the municipalities of Smolensk region, as well as get detailed information on the state support of the investment activity. The businessmen were informed on the loans and other forms of support they can get on the federal and regional levels.

During the work of the thematic section, ​​the head of the regional Agriculture and Food Department Tatiana Rybchenko spoke on the policy of the regional authorities in the field of agro-industrial complex. In particular, the head of the Department pointed out that the region is self-sufficient in basic food products, thus keeping a high level of product safety. Tatiana Rybchenko stressed that the current government policy is aimed at helping small businesses, as well as at developing consumer cooperation.
