Photo exhibition "His Holiness Patriarch Kirill: ministry in the Smolensk land" will open in Smolensk

The photo exhibition "His Holiness Patriarch Kirill: ministry in the Smolensk land", a cultural and educational project of the Smolensk diocese, created with the support of the Administration of the region, will be held in Smolensk region.

The exposition consists of several thematic blocks: "The beginning of the ministry in Smolensk region", "Celebrating the 1000th anniversary of Christianization of Rus", "Organizing church life", "Creating a system of spiritual education and training", "The temples of the Smolensk land," "A dialogue with the society", "Testimony of Orthodoxy". The photo exhibition, containing about 400 photographs, many of which are unique, will tell the story of the spiritual revival of Smolensk region at the end of the XX century through the efforts and pastoral ministry of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, thanks to whom the church-state partnership in the most important areas: education, culture, social service, began.

According to the organizers, each visitor will be able to discover new pages in the history of Smolensk region, to form their own opinion about arch-pastoral ministry of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and his personal contribution to the spiritual revival of Smolensk region, strengthening of traditional spiritual and moral values, to learn about the reconstructed unique Orthodox churches, as well as about the returned Orthodox shrines.

The opening ceremony of the photo exhibition will be held in the Tenishevs Cultural and Exhibition Center on November 18 at 15:00. The exhibition will take place in Smolensk till November 27, and then it will be taken to Minsk. The organizers plan to take the photo exhibition to all the district centers of Smolensk region during 2017.
