Alexey Ostrovskiy took part in the plenary session of the social-economic forum "Development Territory"

Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy took part in the plenary session of the II Smolensk regional social-economic forum "Development Territory", at which the results of its three-day work were summed up.

For the time since the Forum was held for the first time, it has become the main platform to discuss the problems of Smolensk region development in all spheres of social life and to look jointly for the ways to solve these pressing problems.

The idea of ​​holding such a large-scale event came from the Public Chamber, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Smolensk region, and the Scientific-Industrial Union, and it was supported by the regional authorities. According to the organizers, it is an honest, open and trusting dialogue between the authorities and citizens that serves as one of the fundamental principles of state administration. Therefore, the main purpose of "Development Territory" has been and remains the desire to unite all creative and caring for their small Homeland forces of our society.

The representatives of municipalities, heads of agricultural and industrial enterprises, public and non-profit organizations, representatives of business, scientific, art and culture communities took part in the plenary session and summarizing the Forum results.

Welcoming the Forum participants, Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy said: "When it comes to improving the living conditions of Smolensk residents, we are driven by common objectives, principles and approaches. And there can’t be separate interests of public authorities and of business community. We may have only one common interest: step by step and day by day to do everything to improve the lives of people".

Then, the Forum participants moved on to discuss the results of the work of the four thematic sections. During the three days of discussion the experts talked about pressing issues of the economy and investment development of the region, social policy, development strategy of national unity and civil-patriotic education, as well as the regional youth policy.
