The best Smolensk "Geniuses" will receive a grant of half a million rubles

The regional Administration hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the final qualifying round of the program "GENIUS" of the Foundation to assist developing small enterprises in the scientific and technical sphere. The finalists were rewarded by Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy.

The “GENIUS” program is held in the regions of the Russian Federation in order to identify the best young scientists, as well as to motivate talented youth to conduct independent research projects for the practical implementation of their results. Also, the contest gives participants an opportunity to gain additional knowledge on how to implement their scientific research.

Within the framework of the IV scientific-practical conference "Innovative projects of young scientists of Smolensk region", organized by the regional office of the Foundation and the regional branch of the All-Russian public organization "Russian Union of Young Scientists", there was a selection of the innovative projects of the young scientists of Smolensk region to receive a grant from the "GENIUS" program. The competition was attended by young Smolensk residents from 18 to 30 years old. 12 projects in such areas as "Information Technology", "Medicine of the Future", "Modern materials and technology of their creation", "New devices and software complexes", "Biotechnology" were selected to compete in the final round.

During the ceremony the young scientists discussed with the Governor the issues of employment of the graduates of the Smolensk universities, as well as the possibilities of using their innovations on the territory of Smolensk region.
