Smolensk region will take part in the priority project "Clean country"

Smolensk region has become one of the thirteen regions participating in the priority project "Clean Country", which is aimed at eliminating the accumulated harm to the environment.

In 2017, it is planned to complete the second phase of the project "Dismantling the main building and the air purification unit of CJSC “Evroglass” (closed joint stock company) in Golynki village of Rudnya district. For this purpose, our region will receive more than 80 million rubles of subsidies from the federal budget; the funding from the regional budget will amount to about 4.3 million rubles.

Currently, the relevant agreement is going through the approval process at the Natural Resources and Ecology Ministry.

"Environmental protection, conservation of natural resources is a very important and relevant issue throughout the country. It is not by chance that in accordance with President Vladimir Putin's Decree, the year of 2017 has been declared the Year of Ecology. The strategic goal of the environmental policy is to improve the quality of the environment, increase efficient use of natural resources, ensure environmental safety, including stabilization of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. Participation in the national project "Clean Country" is a real opportunity to solve a long-existing problem with the ecological situation around the village of Golynki”, - said Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy.
