The best healthcare professionals of Smolensk region received awards

On the eve of the Healthcare Professionals Day, the Administration of the region hosted an award ceremony for people working at healthcare institutions. Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy congratulated the best doctors of Smolensk region with their professional holiday.

On the eve of the Healthcare Professionals Day, the Administration of the region hosted an award ceremony for people working at healthcare institutions. Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy congratulated the best doctors of Smolensk region with their professional holiday.

Today, over 11,000 people - doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other specialists - work in Smolensk region healthcare sector.

The Head of the region presented the best representatives of the healthcare with the "Honor Healthcare Professional" insignias, Certificates of Honor from the Healthcare Ministry of the Russian Federation, Certificates of Honor from the Administration of Smolensk region, as well as Letters of Appreciation from the Governor.

Healthcare support is paid much attention to both at the state and regional levels - modern equipment and ambulances are purchased, the material and technical base of hospitals and polyclinics is improved, modern information technology is introduced at healthcare institutions.

Specialized medical assistance is developing dynamically in the region. For example, a new department for patients with stroke at the Safonovo Central District Hospital, the Outpatient Cardiology Center in Smolensk, the traumatology building of the Clinical Emergency Hospital, and the treatment and diagnostic department of the Kaluga branch of the “MNTK (interdisciplinary science and technical complex) Academician Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Institute” have been opened. The mechanism of public-private partnership is actively developing in the region – as a result, the Dialysis Centers in Vyazma, Roslavl and Smolensk, as well as the Centers of General Practitioners have been opened. At the same time, to preserve the maximum availability of primary healthcare, the Administration of the region has retained 484 first aid and midwife stations located in the settlements and villages of Smolensk Region.
