"March for Life" was held in Smolensk region

On the Day for Protection of Children, on the instructions of Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy, there was the III regional action "March for Life" in Smolensk.

The purpose of the event is a wide propaganda of family values, raising public awareness of the high importance of the family, propaganda of responsible parenthood, and reducing the number of abortions.

"March for Life" was attended by students and teachers of higher educational institutions and vocational training organizations, volunteers, representatives of youth movements, high school students, children from social rehabilitation centers, and young families. The column passed from the main square of the regional center to the Mass Field in the culture and recreation park "Lopatinsky Garden" where Smolensk young people were greeted by Deputy Governor Oksana Loboda.

Currently, more than 110 thousand families with over 157 thousand children live in the region. As Oksana Loboda noted, in Smolensk, the number of families with many children is growing - if three years ago there were 3,280 of them, now there are more than five and a half thousand families like this.

The participants of the “March” could enjoy the concert featuring different student artistic groups. On the same day, similar events were held in other towns and districts of Smolensk region.
