The Volkov family from Smolensk region is recognized as the "Golden Family of Russia"

The Volkov family from Yartsevo district became the winner in the "Golden Family" nomination in the All-Russian competition "Family of the Year", held by the Labor and Social Protection Ministry together with the Federal Foundation for Support of Children in a difficult life situation.

The competition has a competent jury, which includes representatives of federal and regional government agencies, non-profit organizations, as well as public figures.

Smolensk region was represented in the "Family with many children", "Young family", "Rural family", "Golden family of Russia", "Family - keeper of traditions" nominations by the five families - prize-winners of the regional stage of this year's competition and similar competitions of previous years.

Families from all over the country who have lived in a registered marriage for at least 50 years and can set an example of keeping to family values, strengthening multi-generational ties, citizenship and patriotism took part in the "Golden Family of Russia" nomination.

Boris and Nadezhda Volkov, the winners in the nomination, have lived in love and harmony for sixty-three years, setting a true example of faith and loyalty for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They are actively involved in the life of Yartsevo district and have numerous awards not only of the regional but also of the federal level.

It should be noted that families from Smolensk region have won prizes in the All-Russian competition for the second year a row. So, last year the Kravtsov family, who, by the way, also live in Yartsevo district, became the winner in the nomination "Large family".
