This year, the competitions were organized in 52 competencies in six blocks of working professions: construction, IT-technology, art and design, industrial production, services, and civilian transport service.
The national team of Russia included 58 people - college students and graduates, prizewinners of the Championships "Young Professionals" (WorldSkillsRussia) under the age of 25 years.
Based on the results of the competition, the Russian team was the first in the team event, winning 11 medals and 21 medallions for professionalism.
The delegation of the Russian experts of the WorldSkillsRussia movement, among whom there were 6 Smolensk representatives, was there to support our team and to take part in the business program of the World Championship of working professions. They visited the competition sites, talked with the leaders of the "Young Professionals" Union, and learnt about the world's best practices in vocational education.
At the closing ceremony, the WorldSkills banner was handed over to Russia as the host of the next 45th Championship to be held in 2019 in Kazan.
