Smolensk region took the 12th place in the environmental rating of the subjects of the Russian Federation

The All-Russian Public Organization "Green Patrol" summed up the results of the Year of Ecology and published the results of the "Environmental Rating of the Subjects of the Russian Federation", supported by the Presidential Grants Fund.

The All-Russian Public Organization "Green Patrol" summed up the results of the Year of Ecology and published the results of the "Environmental Rating of the Subjects of the Russian Federation", supported by the Presidential Grants Fund.

The Environmental Rating of the “Green Patrol” is the most objective and influential environmental study in our country. It has been published for 10 years four times a year based on the information from various sources, including the media, government authorities, public and expert organizations and citizens' initiative groups. The goal of the project is to implement public monitoring and a comparative assessment of the regions of Russia in the field of environmental safety and environmental protection.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia hosted the award ceremony during which the heads and representatives of the fifteen regions, including Smolensk region, were presented with commemorative certificates. It should be noted that Smolensk region has improved its results compared to the last year, moving from 14th place to 12th one.

At the top of the rating, there are also Tambov, Belgorod Kursk, Murmansk, Ulyanovsk regions, the Komi Republic, St. Petersburg, the Chuvash Republic, the Altai Republic, and the Altai Territory. The rating also includes Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk, Moscow, Irkutsk, Bryansk, Orenburg, Nizhny Novgorod regions, the Republic of Buryatia, the Jewish Autonomous Region, and Sevastopol.
