The number of entrepreneurs in Smolensk region has increased

According to the Federal Tax Service, the number of registered small and medium-sized businesses in Smolensk region has exceeded 40 thousand, which is 6.7% higher than last year.

The relative Administration Department informs that as of July 1 the number of people willing to start their own business in the region has increased by more than 2.5 thousand compared to the beginning of 2017 (according to this indicator, Smolensk region rates the 6th among  the 18 subjects of the Central Federal District).

It should be pointed out that at present, on the instructions of Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy and with the support of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Russia, there are a number of organizations established and operating as an infrastructure to support small and medium-sized businesses. Among them, there is the Regional Fund for Entrepreneurship Support, the Corporation of Investment Development, the Center for Support of Entrepreneurship, the Center for Cluster Development, the Export Support Center, the Center for Youth Innovation Creativity "YAVIR", etc.
