Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy met with participants of the specialized profile camp program "Volunteers of Smolensk Region"

Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy visited the first specialized profile camp program "Volunteers of Smolensk region", which is held with the support of the Administration of the region from July 17 to 30 at the tourist complex "Sokoliya Gora". The Head of the region got acquainted with the work of the camp and talked to the young people.

200 young people aged 14 to 17 from all the municipalities of the region are participating in the first profile camp program "Volunteers of Smolensk region". One of the key objectives of the program is to involve the younger generation in volunteer activities, stimulate the social activity of school students, and provide opportunities for developing creative and sport abilities of young people.

As Inna Kharitonova, the head of the camp program, told the Governor, the program involves trainings and master classes aimed at building leadership qualities and teamwork skills, discussion panels and round tables, as well as contests, quests and sports competitions. In addition, training sessions of the Regional Volunteer School are arranged for the young people. Their main task is the theoretical and practical training of volunteers in various areas (social, event, environmental volunteering, etc.). Lectures are given by invited speakers, including representatives of executive bodies, leaders of public organizations and youth associations, activists of the volunteer movement, search units, businesspeople, military servicemen, law enforcement officers, Emergency Ministry officers, etc.

Greeting the participants of the camp program, Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy said: "I am always happy to attend such events. You, guys, can charge others with some kind of special positive energy. I am ready to speak honestly and openly about the topics that concern you. You can ask any question. The more questions that you think are sharp and uncomfortable for the authority you ask me as its representative - the better. "

For an hour and a half, young people actively discussed a variety of topics with the Head of the region. They touched on the problems of ecology, employment, development of the volunteer movement, support of the education system, investment policy, improvement of municipalities, gasification of settlements, etc.
