Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy will take part in the XVIII Russian Investment Forum in Sochi

The delegation from Smolensk region headed by Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy will take part in the XVIII Russian Investment Forum (RIF), which is held February 14-15 at the Main Media Center of the Olympic Park in Sochi.

As a reminder: the Forum is annually held with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation and brings together participants not only from Russia, but also from abroad. The key topic of this year is “National projects: from strategy to action”. The Forum business program will be divided into three large thematic blocks: “Regional policy: reacting to challenges”, “New social agenda” and “Business climate in Russia. On the way to growth.”

During the Forum, the heads of federal executive bodies, heads of regions, deputies of the State Duma and the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly, ambassadors of foreign states, leading economists and businesspeople will traditionally be key speakers at thematic sessions and discussions, hold business negotiations, sign strategic agreements, and conclude mutually beneficial contracts.

Also, at the Forum, there will be an exhibition of investment projects of Russian regions and companies. A case zone will also work here. It is a specially created communication platform where participants will present their projects to leading investment experts.

In addition, on February 13, there will be the Forum “Healthy Society. On the way to the goal of 80+”. It is supposed to be a core platform where government officials and expert community will discuss, search for and develop practical proposals for implementing national projects aimed at solving the problem of increasing the healthy life expectancy of Russian citizens.

According to the relevant Department, at the RIF the delegation of Smolensk region is going to attend working meetings with the representatives of the federal authorities, the business community and potential investors. In addition, it is planned to sign a number of Cooperation Agreements on starting significant investment projects in the field of tourism, sports, industry and other areas of the economy and social policy of Smolensk region.
