Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy took part in a meeting “On the planned volumes of production and export of agricultural products”, which was held in Tula under the chairmanship of Dmitry Patrushev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

It should be reminded that President Vladimir Putin instructed the Government of the Russian Federation to ensure the export of non-recourse non-energy goods for about $ 250 billion by 2024. This is stated in the Presidential Decree "On the national goals and strategic objectives of the development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024". Also, by this time, the Government has to ensure the export of products of the agro-industrial complex for $ 45 billion a year and the services provided for $ 100 billion a year.

According to Dmitry Patrushev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the priority is sale of grain. Oil-and-fat products and food products are the second to enter the foreign market. The third line is devoted to increasing the volume of production of fish and fish products. At the moment, there are only 30 investment projects focused on export in the agro-industrial complex of the Central Federal District, so new enterprises are going to be opened in the near future.

Addressing the audience, Alexey Ostrovskiy spoke on the issue of accounting of export volume of agricultural products which is a problematic one for all regions. In order to make this accounting more objective, it is necessary to have information about the place of origin of the products exported from Russia. This will give an opportunity to sort the data on the export of goods produced in the territory of the Russian Federation from the so-called “guest export” (for example, products of Bryansk cheese makers are exported by a Smolensk trading company). In fact, this measure will allow to provide targeted support for the exporters of Smolensk region, which will contribute to increasing their export volumes.

Dmitry Patrushev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, instructed his deputy, Sergei Levin, to look into this problem and, together with all the regions, find ways to solve it.
