During his working visit to the municipality, Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy examined the progress of the investment project aimed at creating a full-cycle wood processing production, and also took part in the opening ceremony of a new company, the wood sawing plant PLADONIT.

It should be noted that since 2016, PLADONIT (specializes in timber harvesting), together with Ugra-LesExport, has been carrying out an investment project involving the creation of a full wood processing cycle in Ugra district. Relevant agreements on its implementation were signed at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, in which Governor Aleksey Ostrovskiy took part. So far, the construction of a plant with a capacity of 200 cubic meters of sawn timber per shift has been completed; modern logging equipment has been purchased, in particular, automated complexes for sawing round timber, as well as equipment for its transportation.

As Andrey Chigvintsev, the Company General Director, told the Governor, at present, the annual volume of finished products at the PLADONIT and Ugra-LesExport companies is about 76 thousand cubic meters of roundwood. In fact, it is important that carrying out a complex of reforestation operations in areas that have been cut down is a priority. The lumber produced is supplied to large wood processing companies, as well as to firms producing furniture, furniture blanks, finishing materials. Among them there is “EGGER Drevprodukt Gagarin”, “Shatura Wood”, “Plitspichprom”, “Futura”, etc.

After examining the production capacity of the plant, Alexey Ostrovskiy asked the investor about further plans to expand production and pointed out: “It makes me, the Head of the region, happy to see that new enterprises are opening in small regional centers such as Ugra. It gives the residents an opportunity not to leave for other regions in search of work, not to leave their families, but to live and work here in their native land. ”

Answering the Governor question on the number of additional jobs for Ugra residents to be created in the future, Andrei Chigvintsev said that at the moment 70 people work at the Company: “There is one working shift. The opening of a new sawing plant today has allowed to create 14 additional new vacancies. When the implementation of the investment project has been fully completed, the number of jobs will increase to 110-120".

As for the priority development plans, PLADONIT Director General said that this year it is planned to build a finished product warehouse with an area of 1.5 thousand square meters, a drying complex with a one-time load of 600 cubic meters of wood, and also a plant for the production of fuel pellets from waste wood. Thus, a full cycle of waste-free production will be created.

It is assumed that the total investment in this project will amount to 270 million rubles.

Summing up the results of the working visit, Alexey Ostrovskiy spoke about his readiness to provide the investor with all-round assistance, and also thanked the Company's management for socially-responsible business activities. “Natalya Sergeyevna Shishigina (the head of Ugra district) often says that the Company under your management, Andrei Valentinovich (Chigvintsev), pays much attention to social work in addition to its main activity: provides financial support in holding socially significant events, provides targeted assistance to children in difficult life situations, as well as to people in need of medical treatment. It is very important. With such an attitude, PLADONIT sets an example of a truly socially responsible business for other companies,” emphasized the Governor.
