International bocce tournament has been held in Gagarin

Events devoted to the first human space flight have been running on at home of Yuriy  Alekseevich Gagarin. On the 27-th of April the Y.A. Gagarin Cup International bocce tournament  between people with specific physical capacities took place in sports and recreation center «Vostok».

Bocce is a sport game with a ball which requires special exactness; it develops physical strength and sustaining power, holds the players together. This day eight teams from Moscow, Nyzhny Novgorod, Smolensk region and Republic of Belarus – 32 sportsmen all in all have been competed for well-directed and exact throw. It is important that this game has no restrictions and is available for all people with specific physical capacities.

The first place was won by the team from Safonovo, the «silver medal» went to the players from Balakhna of Nyzhny Novfogod region, the third place went to the «hosts» that is Gagarin.

Sports gala day was organized by pedagogic college of Gagarin with the support of the Administration of Smolensk region and the Gagarin club of invalids «Korchaginets». The winners of the competitions will take part in the forthcoming bocce tournament in May at the Vorobyovy Hills.
