Smolensk got Bulgarian business interested

At present there is the only one enterprise with Bulgarian interest located in Safonovo district of Smolensk region, but nowadays there are a lot of ways for mutual cooperation.

That is why the Governor Sergey Antuf’ev made a motion to organize and hold presentation of economic and investment potential of Smolensk region in the Embassy of Republic of Bulgaria in the Russian Federation. The Bulgarian party has supported the motion.

The business community representing large enterprises and firms of Bulgaria in Moscow has got interested in this event. The top managers of the companies producing laser technique, representing the fields of  machine-tool building, construction, logistics, wood working, besides tourism and real estate, visited the exhibition of investment projects, knew more information about Smolensk region, got in contact with businessmen from Smolensk. The Advisor, chief of the department for trade and economic issues in the Embassy of Republic of Bulgaria Iliyan Tsonev has pointed out that the Bulgarian business elite in Russia has come to meet businessmen from Smolensk.

The deputy Governor Aleksander Dolgov has presented economic and investment potential of the region to the participants. He has pointed out those fields of activity which have two-way interest and are to be promising for joint work. Besides ways of joint cooperation in the field of tourism were presented and the head of administration of the municipal establishment «Vyazemsky district» Inna Demidova has presented her district as there are long-term friendly ties between Vyazma and Plovdiv and the documentation work for partnership is in progress now.

During the constructive dialogue preliminary agreements about business missions, exchange of business delegations, representatives of the public, culture and tourist industry were achieved and the Smolensk and Bulgaria chambers of commerce and industry would render all necessary support.

High estimate of the presentation was given by plenipotentiary minister – deputy of the Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the Bulgaria Republic in the Russian Federation Vesko Ivanov: «I have not only a feeling, but a belief that this presentation will have great outcome, because our businessmen made contacts with Smolensk partners. We have a lot of common interests which may be successfully developed».
