Austrian business in Smolensk

The governor of Smolensk region Sergey Antufiev had a meeting with a managing director of the company «EGGER» Tomas Lyaising and general director of «EGGER» in Russia Peter Vaismayier.

The family enterprise was founded 50 years ago in Austria. Nowadays it is a group of companies including 15 plants on deep processing of wood, production of construction materials and furniture, operating in Austria, Germany, Great Britain, France, Rumania and Russia. 20 countries have trade reps. Plywood manufacturing plant in Gagarin has become a part of the company «EGGER» in Russia.

Austrian businessmen have told of immediate plans on construction of new storehouse, opening of railway route, further development of timber processing complex. By-turn Sergey Antufiev has declared a confidence as regards a long-term, fruitful and mutual cooperation between the Administration of the region and the company «EGGER» in Smolensk.
