Practical collaboration with German partners in public health

Depute of Governor, Sergey Krivko gave a briefing  for regional mass media representatives. The briefing was devoted to conclusions of participation of Smolensk region delegation in the seventh International Conference on Problems of public health service, that have taken place on 27-28 of June in Rostock /federal land Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania/Germany.

Participation of natives of Smolensk  in Conference was a continuation of partnership development between forum of initiatives supporting of Russian and German civil societies «Dialogue of St. Petersburg», Administration of Smolensk region and  Smolensk State medical academy.

Sergey Krivko reminded, that in the year 2010 side pieces have come to an agreement about cooperation in the scope of public health, economy and social policy. On the basis of International science and technology center in Moscow was held a seminar devoted to problems of management of public health service, in that course Adriaan van der Meer,  executive director  showed an intention to cooperate with natives of Smolensk in the scope of medicine: children's tuberculosis control, traumatic surgery, orthopedics, cardiology. German partner of Smolensk region was federal land Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In spring 2011 Adriaan van der Meer, Secretary of  Ministry of Economic Affairs, Department of Labor and Tourism of federal land Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Stefan Rudolf, heads of German clinics visited our region and met with the Governor of the region – Sergey Antufiev.

In June, Delegation of Smolensk region took place in International Conference in German, where Sergey Krivko deliver with the report about perspective of modernization of system of public health service in Smolensk region.

Notable, students of Smolensk State medical academy got an opportunity to participate in such a severe medical forum, for this students was organized a medical practice in one of the best German cardiological clinics. Delegation from Smolensk region to became familiar with the work of orthopedic clinic in Rostock, that successfully combines practical and scientific activities. Native of Smolensk visited enterprise for elaboration of orthopedic prostheses (implants). Also were discussed questions concerning cooperation in the scope of tourism and small-scale business.

Sergey Krivko emphasized that it was made a preliminary accommodation with a German party  to organize a training course for our doctors in Germany and preparations of highly skilled medical stuff for Federal Medical Traumatology and Orthopedics Centre in Smolensk.
