The Smolensk team is among the winners of the All-Russian Championship for student corpus of rescuers

A victory ceremony for the team of Smolensk region which took the 3-rd place in the VI All-Russian Championship of public youth organization «All-Russian student corpus of rescuers» on  all-round of rescuers  of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia has been held at Administration of the region.

 The competitions took place in Tver region on the 5 – 10 of July. Alexey Gurenkov, the head of the Department of sport, tourism and youth policy of Smolensk region, has awarded the best rescuers with diplomas and prizes.  

11 student rescue teams from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Lipetsk, Tver, Tujmen, Saratov, Samara, Smolensk, Orenburg regions, republics of Dagestan and Tatarstan took part in the competitions. The 1-st place went to the team from Dagestan, the 2-nd place – to Moscow.  The team from Smolensk region consisting of Ivan Maksimov, Denis Kravchenko, Pavel Babin, Vladimir Ponomarev, Alexey Shmatko, Alexander Popov, Alexander Minchenkov,  Alexey Zakharov under the guidance of Sergey Kalenteenkov took part in the competitions of such level for the first time. The Smolensk team took the 1-st place at «Emergency medical service» distance, the 3-rd place at «Rescue works at man-caused emergency» distance, the 3-rd place at «Complex of strength exercises» distance and took the 3-rd final place. The team Capitan Ivan Maksimov was awarded with a commemorative.

«We are glad that Smolensk team presented the region worthily passing over many of strong competitors. We will do our best to support our team», – has declared Alexey Gurenkov. 

The team went to the competitions under support of the Chief Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Smolensk region and Centre of child and teenage tourism and excursions of Smolensk city. The aim of all-round competitions of rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia among student rescue teams is to develop skills for rescuing works, to attract students to regular physical trainings and sport, to strengthen their health and improve professional skills, and also sharing rescuing works experiences. It is telling that, two of the participants of our team have already got certification for rescuing works and entered the Ministry of Emergency Situations.  

Teams won in the Championship will take part in the international competitions of professional rescuers at the Kamchatka from 23 July till 5 August.
