The Sixth stage of truck racing European Championship – on «Smolensk ring»

On automobile racetrack «Smolensk ring» on the 30–31 of July took place the Sixth stage of truck racing European Championship  FIA ETRC – TRUCK BATTLE RUSSIA 2011.

Sergey Antufiev the Governor of Smolensk region participated in solemn ceremony of opening.

After successful holding of truck racing in August 2010 decided organizers of Championship  and International Automobile Federation (FIA) to include automobile racetrack «Smolensk ring» in calendar of activities for 2011. Also within the scope of European Championship hold on  automobile racetrack stages of three racing series: LADA Granta Cup, LEGENDS RUSSIAN SERIES, MegaFon Mitjet Cup. Thereby, this unique racetrack, as and past hot summer, became an arena for uncompromising and spectacular competition for the best racers of continent, which are in the top ten racers 2011.

In his complimentary address Sergey Antufiev noted, that it is already the second time when  Smolensk receives competitions of such a high level and racers from different country of the world.

 «I am sure, «Smolensk ring» will have a positive effect on a car development process in our region, and in the country in whole. Undoubtedly, such kind of competition attracts attention of young people to the steadfast and fine kind of sports. I wish all audience perfect emotional experiences and vivid impressions», – said the Governor.

During press conference for regional and central mass media Sergey Antufiev emphasized, automobile racetrack «Smolensk ring» as an unique sport object has grate importance for image of our region: «To have such kind of racetracks that we have can allow themselves not so many regions. Region, where such kind of competitions has place become more attractive for investors».    

At the time of arrangements all audiences have an opportunity to familiarize theirselves with an unique and powerful techniques, to get autographs of famous racers. An in the evening participants of truck racing and audiences spent time perfectly, consulted, communicated with colleagues.

TRUCK BATTLE RUSSIA 2011 was held under the auspices of International Automobile Federation (FIA), Russian Motor-car Federation and Governor of Smolensk region. As general information partner of the Russian stage of European Championship acted All-Russian   televisions channel RUSSIA 2.
