Foreign astronauts visited homeland of Yury Gagarin

American woman-astronaut Bonni Djinn Danbar, the first spaceman of Malaysia Sheikh Muzafar Shukor, «patriarch» of domestic astronautics – twice Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot-astronaut Aleksey Leonov, pilot-astronaut of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kornienko visited small motherland of the first spacemen of planet. International «team» was followed by Deputy of the Governor of Smolensk region Peter Lopashinov.

«Space» guests visited Gagarin city and village Klushiho within the scope of the XXIV Plenary Congress of Association of Participants of spacefaring, that was held in Moscow from 5-th. till 9-th. September  in the network of the Year of Russian Cosmonautics. In its work took part about  200 spacemen and astronauts from 35 countries of the world, which visited Russian capital. All they saw our Earth from the illuminators of space vehicles.

Guests were welcomed by Vladimir Ivanov, head of Administration of Gagarin district. After free and easy conversation during tea-party spacemen got souvenirs. Than guests laid flowers to the monument of Yury Gagarin.

And of course, astronauts visited village Klushino, home of the first spacemen of planet. Here  «space» guests, had a drink of water from draw well near the Gagarin's parents' home and got to know with an exposition of museum.

Meeting with fellow-citizens of the first spacemen of planet was held in Gagarin city, recreation centre «Komsomolets». The most part of auditorium was young people, which became good opportunity to deal with foreign and Russian astronauts.

During press conference vice-governor Peter Lopashinov said about perspective collaboration  between  Aerospace museum inSeattle and its chairperson Bonni Djinn Danbar  and memorial museum Y.A. Gagarin: it could be, for example expositions and delegations exchanges.
