Governor got to know with realization of the biggest capital spending project of Smolensk region

Governor Sergey Antufiev visited Kholm-Zhirkovskiy district, where he got to know with reconstruction and development processes of  «Igorevskiy woodworking integrated plant», videlicet building of fibreboard plant (MDF), and also development of municipal unit infrastructure.

The present capital spending project is realized from 2009 on terms of private-public partnership and Administration of Smolensk region is initiator of the project. Plant was built in the early 1980 as a complex for production of fibreboards, plywood and sawmilling. Nowadays «Igorevskiy woodworking integrated plant» is the local economic mainstay, one of the biggest in the region with a number of employee about 600 persons.

Conception of regional capital spending projectconfirms fully to the Strategy of development of Smolensk region in long-term outlook – up to 2020. Project's realization furthers development of local regional cluster for production of building materials and foremostwoodworking plants.

Sergey Antufiev visited two workshops, and builder's yard of MDF plant. Today fondations of plant body and external networks are established, and equipment and hardware are purchased. It is planed that realization of the present project can allow to provide new employment opportunities for 600 persons. Annual output of MDF realization will be about 400 000 м3.
