Holiday present to the forest workers

On the eve of the Forest Worker Day celebrating on the 18-th of September an automobile presentation ceremony to the best forestry organizations of the region and demonstration of fire-fighting equipment took place in the Lenin square. The Governor of Smolensk region Sergey Antufiev, Honored managers and specialists of forestry, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Forest fireproof service of the region took part in the event.

In 2011 thanks to the regional programme «Fire protection of forests» which was approved by the Governor and the financial support from the federal budget a modern fireproof technique was purchased. These are passable fire-engines, bulldozers, tractors, trailers, foam makers and other things. Today forest fireproof service has an opportunity to have a control over the situation with the help of unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with photo and video. These facilities and technique help to prevent and extinguish forest fires.

The Governor of the region has congratulated all of with professional holiday and together with its veterans took part in planting of twenty blue fir trees near the entrance to the Park of the city. The new alley is made in honor of the International year of forests announced by United Nations General Assembly.
