In struggle against tuberculosis can not be indifferent persons

Imposing Research and Practice Seminar based on International science and technology center has been working during two days in Moscow and considered an issue of Pediatric Tuberculosis.

This seminar was initiated by Administration of Smolensk region and Smolensk State Medical Academy. Urgency of such kind of discussion was supported on international level by World Health Organization, Ministry of Public Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation, Civil Forum «Dialogue of St. Petersburg», Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Harvard Medical School.

Leading experts from Center for control and prevention of infectious diseases USA and Russian and German Foundation of Koch-Mechnikov presented their points of view for such an impotent problem.

Representatives of EU, India, Ibero America, South Africa, CIS and Georgia made reviews about situation with Pediatric Tuberculosis in different countries and regions of the World. Smolensk delegation was headed by Vice-governor Sergey Krivko and contained leading specialists of regional medical establishments, scientists and practitioners. 

Participants of symposium discussed a wide range during plenary meetings and sittings, sessions and panel discussions concerning new diagnostic techniques and treatment strategics, programs for prevention and elimination of drug-resistanttuberculosis. They exchanged experience and opinions, compiled a program, politics and guidelines for further collaboration.

In the scope of the forum was held a working meeting between Deputy of Governor, Sergey Krivko and Executive director of International science and technology center Andrian van der Meer and also Wilfred Bergmann, member of Executive Board of the Forum of support for civic initiatives «Dialogue of St. Petersburg», where were discussed the further means of cooperation and modernization of regional public health system.

For the year of collaboration took place specialized Research and Practice Seminars in Moscow and Smolensk. Six students from Smolensk took practical training in the leading cardiological clinic of federal state Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Four doctors will go to the German for training course already in November, and five doctors more will take practical training, next year in March. All expenses will bear International science and technology center and «Dialogue of St. Petersburg». Smolensk is a region where there are all possibilities for such project realization.
