On the eve of the New Year in the A.S. Griboedov Smolensk drama theatre a traditional Governor’s Christmas tree, organized by the Administration was hold on.

The Governor Sergey Antufiev has congratulated boys and girls and their parents, grandmothers and grandfathers with coming New Year. The head of the region has wished success and wish fulfillment to them, he said: «I’m sure that you will be worthy citizens of Smolensk and the country!». The participants have got the New Year presents.

More than 800 children from different districts of Smolensk took part in the holiday. Foster children from boarding schools and rehabilitation centers, children from large families and low-income families were invited to the New Year holiday.

The performances with participation of Ded Moroz and Snegurochka, personages from popular animated cartoons, different games and musical fairy tale «Pussy in boots» were organized in the theatre foyer. 

30 children from Smolensk region took part in the Presidential Christmas Tree, on 25 December, Moscow. They are from large families and low-income families, high achievers, winners of different competitions and Olympiads.
